Here are some low sugar fruits that you can add to your diet if you are trying to control your sugar either for diet or you live with diabetes.

It’s a good idea to limit your sugar intake, but controlling your sweet craving may be a challenging task. 

Fruits contain many healthy nutrients and antioxidants, some contain more sugar than others. 

1. Kiwis

These strange hairy fruits are also classified as berries. Kiwis are high in vitamin C and low in sugar, with only six grams per kiwi.

2. Blackberries

Blackberries are high in antioxidants and only contain seven grams of sugar.

3. Watermelon

Watermelons are a great source of iron and are perfect to enjoy on a summers day. One cup of watermelon only contains 10 grams.

4. Strawberries

Strawberries have very low sugar content, especially considering how sweet and tasty they are. One cup of strawberries has seven grams of sugar.

5. Avocado

Avocados are fruits, and they are naturally low in sugar, despite not being the first thing that springs to mind when you think of fruit. Only around one gram of sugar is found in a whole raw avocado. Avocados are high in good fats, which helps keep you full for longer.

6. Lemon & Limes

Lemon & limes are high in vitamin c and only contain a gram or two per fruit. These make a great complement to a glass of water to help you feel full.

These are just six low sugar fruits. Other fruits that are low in sugar include raspberries, grapefruit, cantaloupe, oranges and peaches. Fruit is a great addition to your diet as they include many vitamins and minerals and is high in fibre.
