Making sure you have healthy snacks throughout the day is essential for a healthy diet. Finding nutritious and easy snack options doesn’t have to be difficult. Here are 7 healthy vegetarian snacks.
Carrot Sticks and Hummus
This is a quick and healthy snack. Filled with protein and healthy fats. You can get different flavours of hummus which is great to mix it up every now and then. If you don’t like carrots you can also use cucumber, peppers or celery.

Popcorn
A perfect low-calorie snack. Popcorn contains magnesium, zinc, phosphorus and manganese. Manganese helps with digestion and immune function. When choosing popcorn make sure it’s air-popped and not pre-packaged as these contain extra fats and calories.

Guacamole and Tortilla Chips
A simple and satisfying snack. Rich in vitamin c and potassium. Avocados contain fatty acids which are great for good cholesterol. For a healthier tortilla chip, you can bake at home instead of frying.

Fruit and Yoghurt
Yoghurt is a great source of protein, potassium and calcium. It makes a perfect snack option. You can add any of your favourite fruits which are packed with antioxidants that keep you healthy. Go for a fat-free low-calorie yoghurt option to reduce sugar intake.
Kale Chips
A yummy way to add more veggies into your diet. Packed with vitamin C and vitamin a these important nutrients are needed for proper immune function. Homemade kale chips are easy to make but you can also purchase them here.

Nuts
Nuts are a great source of fibre, protein and healthy heart fats. There are so many nuts to enjoy including almonds, cashews, peanuts, walnuts and pistachios. Nuts are delicious but be careful not to eat too many of them as they are high in calories.

Green Smoothie
Enjoying a green smoothie is a quick way to get those extra vitamins and minerals. A green smoothie will normally include greens such as kale and spinach. Other veggies you can add could be carrots, bananas and celery. For extra protein, you can add some vegetarian protein powder.
