These low sugar breakfast ideas can help lower your daily sugar intake. Unfortunately, sugar can be found in the healthier breakfast options you may find.
Breakfast cereals contain a high amount of sugar and are not very nutritional. You may see on the side that minerals and vitamins are included but these are found in such small amounts they have no health benefits. Below are some of my favourite low sugar breakfast ideas.
Omelette with fried tomatoes
Low in calories and high in protein this yummy omelette is the perfect start to the day! Double ingredients to make for 2 people.
Ingredients
- 3 Halved Tomatoes
- 2 Large Eggs
- Chopped Basil & Parsley
In a frying pan fry the tomatoes until soft. Whilst they are frying, whisk your eggs and herbs in a bowl adding salt and pepper. Remove tomatoes then pour your mixture into the frying pan and gently stir until the egg sets. Once set add your tomatoes. Wait until cooked and serve!

Overnight Oats
The great thing about this recipe is you can add different fruits, nuts and seeds each time.
Ingredients
- 50g Porridge Oats
- 20g chia seeds
- 50g Fruits of your choice
- 1tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tbsp Greek Yogurt
- Honey
- 100ml almond milk
In a mason glass jar or bowl add the oats, chia seeds and cinnamon. Add the milk and stir until there are no clumps. Cover and pop into the fridge overnight. The next day top with yoghurt, fruits and a drizzle of honey. Enjoy!

Breakfast Burrito
A quick and easy breakfast burrito packed with delicious ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 Egg
- 6 Halved Cherry Tomatoes
- 1 Sliced Avocado
- 50g Spinach or Kale
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 Wholemeal Tortilla Wrap
- Salt & Pepper
Whisk the paprika, salt and pepper with the egg in a jug. In a frying pan cook the spinach and tomatoes until they have softened. Move to one side, pour the egg into the pan and scramble. Warm the wrap and layer everything in your wrap, top with the avocado, wrap and then eat.

I make these low sugar breakfast’s all the time as they are quick, easy and taste delicious. I also like to mix it up sometimes by swapping certain ingredients.
Let me know in the comments if you have tried any of these or if you have any I can try!
